Made of two quarter-circles joined together, back-to-back, the GUBI | Semi Pendant - Black is an elegant pendant lamp that stands out amongst all others. Featuring an exquisite arch-shaped, enamelled metal shade that casts a soft cone-shaped light, this lamp is perfect for illuminating dining tables and kitchen work surfaces. Originally crafted in 1968 by Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup, the Semi Pendant was born out of a desire to break away from the soft, organic shapes that were popular in Denmark at the time. Their innovative design, entered in a prestigious competition, won first prize at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. In the 1980s, the Semi Pendant gained worldwide recognition and iconic status, solidifying its place as the best-selling Danish design of its time.
